WWII grouping from Technician Fourth Grade (T/4) Elmer C. Burk that I bought on Ebay. This WW2 grouping was purchased at a house auction in Michigan, US. All items in this nice grouping show normal wear and use for age except his Honorable Discharge paper, that's a recent copy.
Elmer Cecil Burk, #36100112, was born on February 2, 1918 in Helena, Ohio. He lived in Quincy, Michigan until he entered the service on November 26, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mr. Burk has had 8 years of grammar, was married and had two dependents when he entered the service. Elmer Burk served in Headquarters Company, 14th Tank Battalion, 9th Armored Division, specialized as a Truck driver. The 9th Armored Division fought in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
September 2, 1945 Elmer Burk had gained a total ASR score of 90, so he was able to get shipped stateside, which he did October 4,1945.
He seperated from the army after almost five years of service at Ford Sheridan, Illinois on October 29,1945.
Elmer Burk married Myrtle Eileen Burk on August 16, 1942. She died on October 12, 2008 and Elmer preceded here in death on August 1, 1982 at the age of 64. Both are buried at the Lake View Cemetery, Quincy,
Branch County,
Michigan.
